Recovery Point Objective (RPO) refers to the specific point in time to which data can be restored following a disruption. It essentially defines the maximum acceptable age of the data that must be recovered after a failure. For example, if an organization's RPO is set to four hours, this means that, in the event of a data loss, they can only afford to lose up to four hours' worth of data.
